Saleh and his family took us in like we were their own daughters. More than just a tour, they offered a family experience, all the while seeing the famous sites throughout Wadi Rum, learning some history, enjoying fantastic food, marveling at the brilliant desert night-sky, and riding a camel (an extra expense, but must-do if it's your first time -- there is no better setting).Saleh was very clear and timely in his communication leading up to our visit. I highly recommend him, especially for unaccompanied female travelers.

My husband and I booked a 4x4 tour and stayed in Saleh’s camp. It was one of our best experience in our life the camp is well equipped and comfortable. Saleh’s son Moaz took us on a tour with one of their 4x4 car which we enjoyed very much Moaz is the best tour guide in Wadi Rum he took us all of the nice places what Wadi Rum can offer and told us every story about the local places and the people. After we had a really nice meal cooked by Saleh’s wife and watched the sunset which is the best to look from the benches by the camp. Thank you very much will never forget.

With Saleh you are not treated as a tourist but as a true guest in his home. We had a chance to see marvellous magic of Wadi Rum with all major spots and the sunset on the desert. Evening and overnight in his desert camp will stay with us as a unforgettable memory. We were travelling as a family with three children and the whole day trip enriched with camel ride was the best time we spent in our trip to Jordan.

Had the best time spending two nights in Saleh’s camp and getting to know him and his family. They treated us like family and took great care of us from the transportation to seeing the best sites. Alia, his wife made delicious food catered to our dietary needs and likes and we had a ton of fun spending a day in the desert with his son, Moaz. We left with memories we will cherish and will definitely want to come back! Can not say enough great things about the experience.

Thank you very much, Saleh and Alia, for welcoming us into your camp. You made us feel like family! Thank you for cooking delicious vegetarian meals for the five of us. The camel ride was safe and unforgettable. Your handsome son, Moaz, gave us a great full-day tour of the nearby stunning sites; cooked a meal for our leisurely lunch as we relaxed in the cool shade, and timed it perfectly to close our day with a spectacular sunset experience. We will long remember sleeping outside under the starry, desert sky. Blessings on you and your family. We will treasure our very fond memories of being with you all.

My family group of four had a wonderful experience with Saleh and his family and I highly recommend Saleh’s Safari Camp.I was looking for a local company that I could book with direct (not through a booking site or an agent). Saleh’s website accurately describes the tours and stays he offers and the prices - there is nothing hidden. We opted to take a camel ride out into the desert before being picked up by a family member for a memorable ride in the back of a pick up truck. The driver took us to all the best places (along with tourists with other operators) and then let us get on with it. In other words we had the best balance of a guide and freedom. The camp is perfect: basic, but comfortable and clean. Saleh’s wife cooked us a delicious meal and breakfast the next day. There were just two other family groups staying and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. We took our children aged 14 and 13 and this is perfect for adventurous teenagers.

Saleh was really welcoming and friendly. Nothing was rushed, he took his time to take us to the best spots. Ride was very bumpy and shaky in the jeep, but I believe that is to be expected on the Wadi Rum desert terrain. Got some excellent photos Great experience, great value for money too!

What a wonderful place! Stayed several nights here; Saleh and his family are great hosts, wonderful food, the tours were both relaxing and spectacular. This camp has no neighbors close by, and is very very quiet. The stars are bright at night. Staying here is like visiting family.

ADVENTURE WEEKENDS
(Duration: two-days and one, two or three nights)
During the next year, we are offering a few two-day themed tours in WadiRum. The numbers are strictly limited and you will have to prebook and prepay -- so if you're interested please contact us soon. Some tours will be strenuous and tough, others will be more intellectually challenging! all will be fun. They will be organised by Saleh, Alia will provide the food andAttiyek will lead you through the desert.
weekend3 weekend8 weekend4
* We are planning a two-day desert marathon, between all the main locations of Rum, with support on the way and a Rum marathon certifcate at the end! and yes you will have to
walk more than 42 kms!
* There'll be a two-day Rum camel caravan, taking you to corners of Rum that can't be reached by 4x4 and letting you experience the desert like the bedouins have for centuries; again with support and your luggage carried ahead to your overnight camp in the heart of the protected area.
weekend1 weekend5 weekend7
* Help us to create a challenging GPS-scrambling Treasure Hunt weekend. Saleh's father told him of a mysterious Turk who gave directions to a hidden treasure within walking distance of Rum village. It's never been found. This time we will provide the treasure and it will be found but not on the first day and not until you've scoured most of Rum.
* And we want to organise an extended Behind the Veil visit, where women only will learn in detail how to cook bedouin food and share far more intimate details of life than is possible on a short-visit.
* We will organise a special weekend for photographers, with an exhibition at the end!
* For the really hardy we can run a desert survival weekend, where all you take with you is the water you need; everything else you have to find on your journey; though you can recover on your final night in the luxury of Saleh's mother's bedouin camp near Jebel Khazali.
* There will be a 'Legacy of Lawrence' weekend, with lectures and touring and even trips beyond Rum. Perhaps we'll run something similar on the history of the Nabateans.
