The Magic of Wadi Rum

(Duration: Half Day, One Day, One-Day-and-One-Night, or Longer)

Wadi Rum is a place that defies description—a landscape so vast, so silent, and so breathtakingly beautiful that it puts life into perspective. Sheer cliffs rise like ancient sentinels, endless dunes stretch beyond the horizon, and the crimson hues of sunset bathe the desert in fiery brilliance. To step into Wadi Rum is to enter a world untouched by time, where every rock and grain of sand whispers stories thousands of years old.

One of those voices belongs to T.E. Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia, whose words have immortalized this desert for generations. "Rum's glory would not let a man waste himself in feverish regrets," he wrote, capturing the profound impact this land had on him. In the century since Lawrence roamed these sands, little has changed. The silence, the scale, and the raw beauty remain as awe-inspiring today as they were then.

Short on Time?

If you only have half a day, we’ll do our best to show you the essence of Wadi Rum—but it’s almost impossible to fully experience its wonders in such a short time. Better yet, stretch your visit to a full day. This allows you to pause, breathe the crisp desert air, touch the ancient rocks, sip traditional Bedouin tea, and marvel at how people have thrived here for centuries.

A Full-Day Adventure

A full-day tour includes lunch in the heart of the desert and an unforgettable sunset. You’ll have ample time to explore all the main sites:

  • Ancient inscriptions and drawings hidden deep within Khazali Canyon.
  • Towering sand dunes that beg to be climbed.
  • Dramatic rock bridges carved by nature over millennia.
  • The real Lawrence’s Spring at Al Shallaleh, perched above a 2,000-year-old Nabatean temple.
  • Quiet, cool canyons and breathtaking panoramic views.

You can choose to walk, ride in a 4x4, or even spend an hour or two riding camels through the dunes—a true Bedouin experience.

Stay Overnight Under the Stars

Extend your journey with an overnight stay. Enjoy dinner in Saleh’s mother’s cozy Bedouin tent, nestled at the foot of Khazali. Today, the tent is well-equipped with modern amenities, including cooking facilities, a new WC, and a shower. Alternatively, sleep under the open sky, surrounded by millions of stars, or let Saleh set up camp wherever you wish.

Breakfast is included, though you’ll need to rise early if you plan to continue exploring. If you’re ready to abandon yourself to the magic of Wadi Rum, you can stay for another day—or more.

We loved everything about our tour. Saleh's family was very welcoming and treated us like a part of the family. His wife prepared us lunch and it was one of the most delicious and homy meals we had in Jordan. His son, Muadh took us on the 4x4 tour and took us to the most beautiful and important sites as we were short on time. We will come again and take a longer tour with Saleh next time.

Authentic and Beautiful! We spent 1 day and 1 night at Saleh's camp and it was everything we wanted. When we first arrived we felt right at home as we were welcomed into their house for tea and snacks.Did a short 1 hour tour and then we were treated to an amazing homemade lunch from Saleh's wife. After lunch Saleh's oldest son took us on a 6 hour adventure around Wadi Rum and all the sights, most of them we ended up having to ourselves. After the tour we were brought back to camp, first impressions are always something and this place did not disappoint. Our room was a 2 person Bedouin cabin with a small window with a huge view.Saleh has multiple buildings for small to large groups and everything in-between.Please note this is not the giant companies with domes and A/C and pools, Saleh's camp is a family run business and is more authentic with simple rooms and great views. After check in we went to an amazing sunset spot, then we were called for another home cooked meal.. Spectacular. Our night was filled with drum lessons and conversation by the fire.I highly recommend it.

Great experience as first-time visitors in Wadi Rum. Due to itinerary constraints, we could only fit a 3-hour tour in our schedule, but it was well worth it. Communication prior to the tour via Whatsapp was very smooth and easy, and they did not ask for pre-payment of any form. Saleh sent us a location in the Wadi Rum Village to meet, where we parked our rental car at his house. We were greeted by his family upon arrival, and offered tea and coffee while waiting for him. The vehicle was very nice and in good condition, it was a Toyota pick-up with a bench in the back to enjoy the desert views. The tour was beautiful, Saleh drove us to the main desert sights and provided historical context to understand the Wadi Rum as a place of passage. We particularly enjoyed the Red Sand Dunes, the Khazali Canyon and the Special Canyon hike. We found the bridges to be very touristy and not that worth it. I’d definitely recommend them for a Wadi Rum tour!

Saleh’s camp is the best experience I had in Jordan! It is a real authentic Bedouin experience. The price we paid was very reasonable for a fully package. We arrived way earlier than expected but Saleh’s family were generous enough to offer us lunch at their home, before going on a safari tour with his son to the best spots in Wadi Rum. Their camp and the night stars were amazing! Great place for families, friends, or couples!! This is really the best experience I had in Jordan.
